Manage DNS records
The DNS section manages records for domains whose DNS is hosted on this server. (If your domain uses another DNS provider, make these changes there instead.)
Add or edit a record
- Go to DNS, pick the domain (zone).
- Add record and choose the type:
- A — points a name at an IPv4 address (your site → server IP)
- AAAA — same for IPv6
- CNAME — alias one name to another (e.g.
www→ root domain) - MX — mail servers (needs a priority)
- TXT — SPF, DKIM, DMARC, domain verification
- NS — delegate a subdomain’s DNS
- Set Name (e.g.
@for the root, www, blog), the Value, and TTL. - Save.
Common tasks
- Point your site here:
Arecord@→ server IP, and aCNAMEwww→@. - Email deliverability: add the
TXTrecords for SPF, DKIM, and DMARC (see Email). - Verify a service: paste the
TXTvalue the service gives you.
How long changes take
DNS changes propagate according to the record’s TTL — usually minutes, but up to a few hours for large TTLs. If a change isn’t visible yet, wait and recheck.
