Create an email mailbox and a forwarder

OrbixPanel runs its own mail server, so you can have professional addresses on your own domain — you@yourdomain.com — without a third-party service.

Mailbox vs forwarder vs alias

Pick the right one:

  • Mailbox — a real inbox with storage, a password, and webmail/IMAP access. Use it for an address someone actually logs into.
  • Forwarder — redirects mail from one address to another inbox (e.g. sales@yourdomain.com → your personal Gmail). No storage, no login.
  • Alias — another name that delivers to an existing mailbox.

Create a mailbox

  1. In the panel’s Email area, pick the domain.
  2. Create a mailbox — choose the address and a strong password.
  3. Set a mailbox size if you want a quota.

You can now log in via webmail or a mail client.

Create a forwarder

  1. In Email, add a forwarder.
  2. Enter the source address (info@yourdomain.com) and the destination inbox.

Mail to the source is delivered to the destination — handy for role addresses you don’t want a separate inbox for.

Before mail flows reliably

Two things make the difference between “it works” and “it lands in spam”:

  1. DNS must be set up — MX, SPF, DKIM, DMARC. See Set up DKIM, SPF & DMARC.
  2. Your domain’s reputation — send real mail, don’t spam. See Fix emails going to spam.
