Update your live site after a git push
Once a site is deployed from Git, shipping an update is a one-click job.
The workflow
- Commit and push to the branch you deployed (usually
main):Terminal window git add .git commit -m "Update homepage copy"git push origin main - In the panel, open the app and click Redeploy.
OrbixPanel pulls the latest commit on that branch, reinstalls dependencies if they changed, rebuilds, and swaps the new build in. Your app’s domain, SSL, and settings stay exactly as they were — you only changed the code.
Good habits
- Deploy from a branch you control. Keep experimental work on feature branches; only push to your deploy branch when it’s ready.
- Watch the build log. If a redeploy fails, the previous version keeps running — fix the error, push again, and redeploy.
- Keep secrets out of Git. Use environment variables for API keys and passwords, never commit them.
Want it automatic?
If you’d rather not click Redeploy every time, trigger it from your own CI after a successful test run, or redeploy on a schedule that fits your release cadence.
