Create and manage databases
The Databases section manages your MySQL/MariaDB databases and users (up to your plan’s limit).
Create a database
- Go to Databases → Create database.
- Enter a name. OrbixPanel may prefix it with your account name (e.g.
myacct_appdb) to keep names unique on a shared server. - Save.
Create a database user
- Create user → set a username and a strong password.
- Assign the user to the database with the privileges it needs (typically all privileges on that one database).
Password tip: stick to letters and digits. Special characters like
@ : / #must be percent-encoded in a connection string (@→%40) and are a common cause of authentication-failed errors.
Connect from your app
Use these in your app’s config / .env:
- Host:
localhost(or127.0.0.1) - Database: the full name (with any prefix)
- User / Password: the ones you created
- Port:
3306
Example connection string:
mysql://myacct_user:Password123@127.0.0.1:3306/myacct_appdbManage data
Use the database tools your provider enables (e.g. phpMyAdmin) to browse tables, run
queries, and import/export .sql dumps. You can also upload a dump via the
File Manager and import it from the command your app or
phpMyAdmin provides.
Deleting a database or user is permanent — export a backup first.
