Email & deliverability

Mailboxes & forwarders

Email manages mail for your hosted domains.

  • Create account — a full mailbox (user@domain) with a password and optional quota.
  • Forwarder — send one address to another without a mailbox.
  • Change password / delete accounts as needed.

Client settings to hand out:

  • IMAP mail.domain, port 993 (SSL)
  • SMTP mail.domain, port 465 (SSL), auth required
  • Username: the full email address · or use webmail (Roundcube) in the browser.

Deliverability (SPF, DKIM, DMARC)

Deliverability helps your mail reach inboxes instead of spam.

  1. SPF — a TXT record listing who may send for your domain.
  2. DKIM — OrbixPanel signs outgoing mail; publish the DKIM public key as a TXT record (configure via OpenDKIM when prompted).
  3. DMARC — a TXT policy tying SPF/DKIM together and telling receivers what to do with failures.

Add these in DNS; the Deliverability screen shows what’s set and what’s missing.

Fix common problems

  • Mail lands in spam: publish SPF + DKIM + DMARC and make sure reverse DNS (PTR) for the server IP matches your mail hostname.
  • Can’t send: check the SMTP port (465 SSL) and that the account password is correct.
  • Can’t receive: confirm the domain’s MX record points at your mail host.

At real volume, deliverability is ongoing work (warm-up, reputation, feedback loops) — see the deliverability runbook in the platform docs.
