Databases

Manage the database server and the databases apps run on.

Databases & users

Databases → Create database: name it (a tenant prefix keeps names unique on a shared box). Then:

  • Create user with a strong password.
  • Assign the user to a database with the privileges it needs (usually all privileges on that one database).
  • Delete databases/users when no longer needed (permanent — back up first).

Password tip: letters and digits only. Special characters (@ : / #) must be percent-encoded in a connection string and cause most authentication failed errors.

MySQL server management

MySQL covers server-level tasks: status, configuration, and (where enabled) tuning. Use it to confirm the service is healthy and adjust settings for load.

phpMyAdmin

Install/open phpMyAdmin to browse tables, run SQL, and import/export .sql dumps in the browser. To import a large dump, upload it with the file manager and import from there.

Connect an app

Point the app’s config at:

  • Host 127.0.0.1 · Port 3306 · the database, user, password.

Example: mysql://user:pass@127.0.0.1:3306/dbname

Running a database-backed app? After creating the DB, use the app’s Maintenance panel to run migrations and seeders without SSH.
